Albert J. Nicaud began his career representing insurers and self-insured funds in the defense of property/casualty, automobile, errors and omissions, longshore and worker's compensation claims. In doing so, he has developed a broad-based knowledge of the insurance industry and the goals and objectives of the insurer. He has also represented many of Louisiana's largest corporations in the defense of their commercial liability, auto, worker's compensation and employer liability claims.

Mr. Nicaud has an extensive practice in the field of construction law, including construction litigation, construction contracts, AIA agreements, the Louisiana Private Works and Public Works Acts and lien law. He represents contractors, subcontractors and owners in litigating both, commercial and residential projects. He has extensive experience with New Home Warranty Act and redhibition claims, representing both buyers and sellers. He also serves as counsel to the Louisiana State Board of Home Inspectors.

Mr. Nicaud also represents corporations and limited liability companies, large and small, in their business affairs, including formation, preparing buy-sell agreements, handling shareholder and member disputes, withdrawal actions, business transactions, dissolution actions and various other commercial litigation.

Mr. Nicaud is an executive board member of and attorney for the Louisiana Hospitality Foundation which provides crisis grants and culinary education to hospitality workers. He represents restaurants, bars and caterers in their business and other legal matters.

Mr. Nicaud's practice also focuses on commercial and residential real estate law. He drafts and negotiates commercial and residential leases and represents buyers and sellers in lease disputes, redhibition disputes, New Home Warranty Act claims, landlord tenant disputes, real estate disputes and boundary disputes. He also represents homeowner’s associations, townhome associations and condominium associations in preparing and enforcing compliance with their declarations and by-laws.

Mr. Nicaud is also experienced in estate planning, drafting wills and powers of attorney, handling successions, probate, and disputes among heirs.

Mr. Nicaud has extensive litigation experience before district judges, juries, hearing officers and administrative law judges. Other areas of practice include premises liability, bad faith litigation, personal injury and property damage claims.

Mr. Nicaud also co-hosts the weekly radio show " All Things Legal" on WWL 870 AM/ 105.3 FM on Sunday mornings from 8 a.m. - 10 a.m. The show has been a valuable tool to inform people of their legal rights and duties as well as a platform to discuss business and legal issues.
