Having an accident is overwhelming shocking and scary, knowing Malone Bailey were working tirelessly helped so much

I thought we were going for disability for my back. Extreme pain every day can't walk or sit for 15 min. I tried to lay out the ground work and keeping a pain journal to show how bad it is. Called Nancy and asked what I can do to strengthen my case. Did everything she recommended. The day before my hearing or the morning of John Finlay called me. He changed my disability to mental health issues. After preparing for 3 years he changed it. He spent a total of probably 1 minute pleading my case. Needless to say I lost.

We met John Malone twelve years ago when my husband was involved in a work-place accident. What struck us initially was that there was zero ego to greet us in the office. Throughout the process, John and his exceptional team not only provided help in the way of easy-to-understand legal-ease, but the down to earth comfort of knowing you were taken care of was quite reassuring. They looked after him then and twelve years later, are still on top of their game. With workers compensation claims being just one of their areas of expertise, we feel that what Malone and Atchison brings to the table is YOUR best interests ? not theirs. All the while this multi-faceted team takes on the big guys like Medicare and the Insurance companies, they will hold your hand, follow through with every single detail and will not stop until there is a fair and just resolution for YOU. Give them a call ? you?ll be very glad you did.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
