5.0 out of 5 stars

Susan did a fantastic job with my case. Before she took over I was concerned about what was coming up with my case, but once she agreed to represent me it felt like things just fell into place.

shoddy work. professional. ethics. I went to court with Ms Lax. the processecuting attony gave her the facts of no information on a 911 call she proceeded to trial and after this 40 minute grilling of 911 call by plaintiff I went to jail. obtained detective ...... no call was made by plaintiff. prosecutor lied Ms Lax should not have proceeded with Trial when the prosecutor gave 5 minute notice before trial of misinformation I used her to obtain my shocks sheltered by my ex wife and her attorney. I asked ms Lax to request an accounting of all securities she did not proceed the final upshot is I collected 500,000 dollars of interest since ms lax refused to ask for an accounting and those stocks are stuck in I Ohio State unclaimed fund today. I need another attorney to do her work not a bright attorney not an honest attorney do not use her for anything is my final opinion

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
