5.0 out of 5 stars

In a very uncertain and scary time in my life, I had to make the hard choice to file a Chapter 13. One of the hardest things I have had to do. However, Dustin Granger made this process painless. He walked me through every step and has been there to answer any questions over the last 4 years. I am approaching the end and I could not be happier. Thank you to Dustin, Mark and the entire staff.

The attorney answered all of my bankruptcy questions, was very knowledgeable, and helped me make the best informed decision.

Great attorneys and great staff. This office did a wonderful job and got us through our Chapter 7.

I told him I lost my job and needed an extension and was recently hospitalized but he allowed the court to dismiss my case and then 3 weeks later my car was repossessed. He just sent me a letter of the judgement. I started off with one lawyer and had him for a while, then never saw him again I assume he left, I later asked and the office sated he was still there, so no explanation on why my case was turned over to the other attorney, very poor communication. I would NOT RECOMMEND THIS ATTORNEY!!!!!!

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
