John is BRILLIANT and has saved my life twice! First he taught my ex-employer a lesson with a fabulous discrimination case that netted a half- a- million dollar settlement. Without this reversal of fortunes, I never would have afforded a home and married my wife. Then more recently he had an embarrassing and unwarranted arrest wiped clean from my records, protecting me from losing my current job and livelihood. He is simply the smartest person I have ever met, and he is as razor-sharp now as he ever was. I consider myself lucky indeed to have had the pleasure of watching him operate in court and behind the scenes.

My husband was being railroaded in a 3 year long neglected CHRO employment discrimination case. I called around and Mr. Williams was one of few willing to speak to me over the phone without any payment. He continued to look over the case and answered my questions via email. He agreed to take the case for a fee but admitted to me that staying with the CHRO was probably the best option at this time due to the state filing statue of limitations and federal being the only option left, he could've taken my money and ran with it. Even informing me that the CHRO mediators are not attorneys and don't always give the correct information was so vital, I can't even express how important that one comment was as it forced me to look into everything my husband was being told by the CHRO and found countless mistakes that we were able to fight against and ultimately settled the case on our own for 8 times the amount that was originally offered. I very much appreciate all the time and honesty of attorney John Williams, he went above and beyond and for no reason at all other than pure kindness and it really means so much to me. Thank you Sir

John Williams asked for a $5000 retainer after telling me that I had an open and shut case. I paid him. He did nothing. His excuses were endless. He ran out the statute of limitations. I lost my job, my health and health insurance, my house and all its contents. He is a thief.

Clueless, as he does nothing for you except tell you that you have a great case and take your money. He is an incompetent attorney and a liar.

John Williams is the legal equivalent of Al Bundy, Al says when I was in high school I scored three touch downs. John tells you that in the 1970's I represented the Black Panthers. Well 50 years ago is 50 years ago. He advised me NOT to go to court regarding a false PJR for over a million dollars, I would have one but he told me he had it all set. NOPE I was pissed and he lost the Appeal. I cant tell you how angry I was but as I soon found out he is what they call judgement proof even though he has Malpractice Insurance. Please do yourself a favor and run because all he wants is that $5,000 dollar deposit.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
