I was nervous and asked a bunch of questions and he answered and told me I can get u to stay longer l. He told me $3,000 and I will push out your appointment with border patrol for three months. Well he got me 10 days and once I paid him $3,000 he never kept me updated or spoke with me. I ended up moving back to my country because he could not give me a straight answer. I then asked to change my strategy and voluntary deport myself but he wasn?t listening. He just wanted to have me pay him $12,000 and I would have been deported anyway. He couldn?t even get me the three months he convinced me was so easy to do! $3,000 for NOTHING

We are deeply disappointed that you were dissatisfied with our services. We communicated with you regularly (more than 70 emails not including text messages and phone calls) and provided you with a legal strategy which included our professional opinion regarding your likelihood of success. We believe that we could have and would have prevailed! You decided to ignore our advice and abandoned the process prematurely. We respect your decision and wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
