5.0 out of 5 stars

In a world where so many lawyers just see dollar signs, Mr. Fouts sees and hears you. He sincerely cares about your case and your wellbeing. His knowledge of the law is deep and when he advises you, you know he knows what he's talking about. After my car accident, I found so many five star reviews of Mr. Fouts that I called him. I was upset after dealing with my insurance company who was doing its job of not making me whole. Mr. Fouts listened to my story, asked for some information which only I could provide, and then he took it from there. I honestly felt like someone had lifted 1000 pounds off of my shoulders. He is sure-footed and definitely makes you feel like you are protected. My car had been totaled by a person texting, who ran a red light. I had some minor injuries. My car was older but I had no car payments and was not happy with the insurance company who thought I should take their settlement, apply it to a car purchase and have car payments again. When Mr. Fouts took over, I no longer had to deal with an uncooperative insurance company. He did the negotiations and quickly settled with care for my injuries and a settlement that allowed me to have another comparable car, fully paid for with settlement money. I was whole again. The case ended extremely well. Since then, I have contacted Mr. Fouts on a few other more minor matters. He never disappoints. He always remembers me and makes me feel like my situations matter. I can't recommend a lawyer more highly for professionalism, compassion, efficiency, and knowledge of the law.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
