    Hired Law firm 2021-2023
    Recommends this Law firm
My sister and I needed a smart and compassionate Estate Attorney and based on Dawn’s Law Firm reviews, education and her personal philosophy (on her website) We decided to call Dawns Law office. During our first phone conversation we knew we had made the right choice to hire Dawn as our Dads Estate Attorney. Her communication skills are excellent, all of our emails, phone calls, texts and correspondence were always returned promptly! She explained things too us thoroughly throughout the whole process with such patience and understanding. We will both be forever grateful to Dawn and we would highly recommend her Law office/Estate knowledge and expertise to everyone needing that service. She deserves even more than the 5 gold stars allowed! Thanks for everything! Sue and Lyn

This is my 2nd review for Dawn Getty Sutphin. I highly recommend her. I needed a power of attorney to manage my sister's financial needs. When I submitted the forms to the bank today, the manager said she has never seen a more perfect document. Thanks again Dawn. I look forward to recommending your firm!

I had questions about dealing with financial issues once my mom passes. I have never had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Stuphin. She answered the phone when I called and took the time to answer all my questions and never mentioned charging me for her time. I will most definitely be contacting her for my will and estate planning. A professional person with a heart!

When viewing a listing, consider the state advertising restrictions to which lawyers and law firms must adhere, as well as our FindLaw.com Legal Directory disclaimer. Some lawyers publish comparative information regarding the services that they provide which may be subject to specific comparative communications restrictions.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
