My name is Sheila Brock,. Case #: 20-C-027527 Norton Hospitals, Inc & Community Medical Associates, Inc I lost my job at the New Albany Housing Authority on December 4, 2020 following the COVID-19 shutdown. I started a job with Goodwill Industries and Teleperformance and neither worked out. I have been pitching off monies that I had saved up along with the stimulus check I received last month. I do have an interview with CSC on Monday, April 19, 2021 and I will contact you with the results. Of course, its not a lot of money but I am trying. I bank with Woodforest and that is where my direct deposits will go when I start getting paid. If you have any questions, please contact me. I don't understand why I have a balance with Norton when I had health insurance through my job. I have asked them for an itemized statement so I can make arrangements before all of this and never got anything. I don't have money to pay in bulk but I am willing to set up a payment plan to get this debt paid off.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
