5.0 out of 5 stars

I was referred to Attorney Yellin by a close friend, and got an immediate response and same day consultation. I was in a legal mess, dealing with charges and a broken marriage. Attorney Yellin went to work immediately. Each step along the way was laid out in detail, and his compassion and kindness throughout my case was incredible. This man cares about his clients and gives 110%. His years of experience with Divorce cases gave us a leg up in court. I couldn't be happier with Attorney Yellin's Council, and would highly recommend him.

No one wants to be in the position where they need to find legal counsel to help them deal with something. When it happened to me, I was so very fortunate to find Attorney Ira Yellin. I was a nervous, stressed out wreck and he was so caring and compassionate as he guided me through my situation. He constantly maintained a positive balance between how I was handling the process yet staying aggressive and on point with what legally could and needed to be done. At every step, he kept me informed about the process and also the costs and I never felt like I wasn't in control of what was happening. It was very impressive how he dealt with the opposing counsel and achieved a positive outcome. I feel very blessed to have had him in my corner and highly recommend him to anyone needing legal help. He is excellent! Rose Baker

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
