After 37 years of dedicated employment with the same employer working as a highly educated and highly compensated professional in mental health rehabilitation, I was unexpectedly and without cause terminated one week before Christmas. My heart was broken. I was mentally in a state of depression and anxiety. A colleague recommended Alan Adelman. After my first interview with Alan, I genuinely felt that he was the ?real deal?, and that he had my best interest at heart. Alan?s personal approach was always comforting and supportive to me in this stressful time of my life. His ability to prepare me for court hearings made me feel confident of a positive outcome. Alan?s professional and authoritative courtroom skills coupled with his knowledge of the laws pertaining to my case, his attention to detail, communication skills, and continually keeping me informed every step of the way, puts Alan Adelman in class by himself. Alan is a great litigator, and has become a good friend. I HIGHLY recommend Alan Adelman to anyone that has been wrongfully terminated by a corporation large or small. He is not easily intimidated

Alan is a stellar lawyer. He is kind and compassionate but he means business. What I appreciate most about him is that throughout the process, he takes the time to explain every step thoroughly and is your advocate.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
