Since its founding in 2007, The Wallack Firm, P.C. has achieved extraordinary success becoming one of the fastest-growing matrimonial law boutiques in New York City. Led by Robert Wallack, the firm prides itself on its aggressive, creative and tactical approach to handling the family law matters of high-net worth, high-profile individuals.

From their brand-new midtown offices, the attorneys at the firm work together as a team to meet the needs and serve the interests of their clients. Through strategic thinking and meticulous preparation, the firm's goal is to always be steps ahead of its opponents. And, this flexibility allows the attorneys to adapt to developments and react quickly to pressing concerns, while placing the diverse experience and expertise of the entire firm at the client's disposal.

The energetic and fearless Mr. Wallack, who has been described as a "litigation powerhouse", has been making headlines since his days as a prosecutor in the Manhattan D.A.'s Office. He has handled cases involving some of the biggest names in movies, television, fashion, sports, music and finance, while also serving as an adjunct professor at Seton Hall Law School, a faculty member of Cardozo Law School's Intensive Trial Advocacy Program, and frequent television legal analyst.

Over the years, Mr. Wallack has earned a reputation with clients and within the legal community for his talent and toughness. "People have said that I don't settle cases, which is untrue ─ I'll settle a case when it serves my client's interests. But, if a cause is worth fighting, I fight tirelessly. A lot of lawyers get cold feet and want to settle and then convince their clients to do so. I am always ready to try a case, and to win," says Mr. Wallack. However, this assertiveness should not be mistaken for a lack of compassion. As he states, "We care deeply about our clients and develop close working relationships with them founded on mutual respect, understanding and trust. This is about helping people through really difficult times and making s difference in their lives, and that is what we aim to do."

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
