The firm is dedicated to advocating for your rights, with personal attention given to each client. As a former Registered Nurse, I have a long history of advocacy for the rights of hospitalized patients and this has translated to vigorous advocacy in the courtroom for the right of my clients.
I understand the extreme amount of stress that a divorce puts on a family, especially the children, and can offer guidance in completing this life-altering experience and maintaining all rights afforded to you by the law. Additionally, I offer referrals to my clients to assist them in non-legal methods for adjustment to a new lifestyle, with very satisfying results.

The firm handles a wide range of family related matters, including post-divorce modifications, paternity and adoption.

In addition to family law, there are times when legal representation is necessary to obtain or maintain disability insurance benefits. In a case such as this, a person has paid for disability insurance, either directly or through their employer. There are occasions when the insurance company makes a decision to deny or terminate the disability benefits. The firm will assist you in the appeal process with the insurance company and, if necessary, in filing a suit to obtain your disability benefits.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
