I was fortunate to have been referred to Chris Blaylock by my immigration attorney to help me file a 1473.7, motion to vacate judgement on a previous case that I had. Chris was very informative during the consultation about what it would take to get this filed and the timeframe it would take. I did not hesitate that I had to go with Chris for my case. With Chris' hard work we were able to get this motion granted within 5 months in early 2021 during COVID. I believe Chris delivered on his promises and he was very communicative throughout the process by keeping me updated at every step. I had a good feeling from the beginning that Chris would take good care of my case and I am very happy that my immigration attorney found us Mr. Blaylock. I will definitely keep Mr. Blaylock on my attorney recommendations to my friends and family as he is a great attorney! Thanks for everything Chris!

I almost never write reviews. I think good service should be a given. So it takes a really exceptional experience to compel me to want to spread the word. The hard part was finding Chris Blaylock... the rest was blissfully simple. I had to go through the painful process of contacting more than a dozen law firms and leaving messages, emailing, waiting for return calls / emails, finally getting on the phone, explaining the situation, only to be handed off to someone else at the firm who would finally get back to me, etc etc etc, only to find out that the person had attitude, or was disinterested in helping us with our situation, or wanted an unreasonably large retainer up front, etc. When I finally came across Mr. Blaylock's profile (I can't even remember where), his reviews were stellar so I reached out. He was back in touch almost immediately. I explained the situation, he asked a few questions, and then gave me what was by all measures, a very reasonable cost to handle the situation. And when I say "handle the situation", I literally mean he took it completely off our plate. Never once did I feel the need to follow up, because he promised us he'd be in touch whenever there was an update, and true to his word - he was. From that first phone call, until we received his email just yesterday stating "case dismissed", it was honestly the easiest and most effortless business relationship I've ever experienced. On top of that, there was no fluff... no big over-generalized promises, no salesmanship, nothing. Just his unvarnished perspective, and a realistic range of outcomes, setting realistic expectations. I distinctly remember when I originally came across his profile thinking that it wasn't particularly flashy, and I wondered at the time if that meant that I wouldn't get the "best" legal service one could get. Chris was just as unassuming as his online profile was - but what we ended up getting was someone who didn't need the "flash" to communicate his abilities. He understood - and could easily communicate in layman's terms - the law regarding our situation. He new nearly everyone's name in the legal system that we'd be dealing with, and he was just effortlessly professional. Honest to god, the best experience we've had. I could go on and on, but I'm hopeful that this review will save others the time and effort of going through the needless process of interviewing dozens of attorneys to find not just a good one - but the very best one you could hope to have. Because the "best" attorney isn't just someone with an outstanding command of the law and the legal system, but also someone who naturally knows how to handle the client relationship with integrity and ease - and Chris Blaylock is all of that wrapped up in one attorney. This is why I was compelled to do what I don't usually do - and write this review.

I am extremely please with the experience I have working with Chris! Communication was a breeze and I truly felt like I was in good hands. He was recommended to me by a friend, who initially told me he was referred by a friend as well. I will most definitely continue the chain of recommendations to all those around me, as Chris deserves all the praise he gets!

He let us know up front that there were a range of outcomes, and he managed our expectations appropriately and with integrity. It just so happens that the outcome he achieved was the best of all scenarios.

Chris handled two of my car accidents and I could not have been happier with the outcome. Compassionate, willing to listen and fought for me.

Chris was a great lawyer I hired him for multiple cases. He is very responsive and easy to get ahold of. He worked in my interest and I got what I deserved on each case. He was open and honest and gave me his best opinion on each case. Everything was clear cut. He already kept me updated on my cases. I would recommend Chris and utilize him for the future.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
