Having practiced as an attorney for many years, in multiple jurisdictions, Gay is excited to be a part of the dedicated team at Twin Cities Legal Service PLLC, in Edina. She shares with her colleagues at Twin Cities Legal Service a respect for, and appreciation of, each individual client; and a commitment to provide quality, caring representation.
Gay focuses her practice in the area of wills, estates and trusts. Her desire is to help her clients navigate the sometimes challenging waters of estate planning, and to negotiate the delicate balance that is required in today’s world of changing relationships and blended families. She works to help her clients make decisions and put in place proper documents that allow them and their loved ones to feel secure and avoid conflict.
Gay has a wealth of personal and professional experience that she brings to her practice. She practiced in the jurisdictions of Tennessee, Colorado and Wyoming prior to moving with her family to Minnesota. She has a history as a banking and healthcare attorney, and as a family mediator, creating the mediation program for the District Court in Casper, Wyoming; and working with the court to introduce the concept of mediation to the community. She brings the same level of enthusiasm to her estate practice, and looks forward to helping her clients achieve their personal and financial goals, with the proper planning tools.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level
- - Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials
- - How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost
- - How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City
- - Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
