Hired Law firm 2010-2011The Most dishonest Lawfirm I have ever worked with. I have used many lawfirms including my divorce about 15 for different aspects of my 12 year divorce. First, This Thief lawfirm charged me over $775,000 in 10 months of working on my case. They charged me $250,000 to get a restraining order for my daughter and I when all I had to do is go for free to the Santa Monica courthouse and get the restraining orders for myself and daughter against my ex husband Now my daughter was murdered as a result of them not reinstating the restraining order at the end of the 2 years. They padded all bills, had 4 different, very incompetent paralegals all doing the same work and only one does each assignment. I got charged by each of the paralegals doing the exact work. Second, When the firm moved, I got my files and in the files by their head administrator was my intial phone call to get representation and the admisistrator said to definitely take this case as the husband is worth over $75 millon dollars and pre nup say the husband is responsible for all attorney fees. This is why they billed me an outrageous amount of money for the first 10 months of work. Needless to say, I did not use them anymore. One of the paralegals wrote a 1/2 page letter to my ex's lawyer and charged me over $400.00 for just a simple letter. I had to live with this monster who was beating my daughter and myself up for the 10 months. They didn't even get him kicked out of the house even with the $250.000 restraining order they got for me. Couldn't be a more dishonest lawyer than Robert Naschin. Eventually all of his staff quit and went to work for other law firms. I will post the letter from the admistrator just to get Robert Naschin to take my case in order to beyond over charge me. Of course, this was my first divorce and was so devastated from all the abuse my daughter and I were facing still living in the same house. Again, my daughter was murdered by the monster.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
