Me. Bradley came into the litigation late for my son after his public defender said he was pushing to get his jail time started. Mr. Bradley was able to extend his time at home under house arrest so he could be there for his daughter?s birthday. He negotiated the lowest time possible and pushed for boot camp to lessen his sentence time. When the judge didn?t honor the boot camp option he went back to court and fought for it. This got my son home sooner by 4 months. There was no extra charges. Just the upfront fee which he allowed us to pay in installments.

I would never hire Bradley Friedman. He continuously misled my brother and me by making us promises he never intended or had the ability to keep. Examples of this include quickly talking my brother into signing a plea deal, not being able to speed up his sentencing date, having incorrect information in his court documentation presented before the judge and insinuating that my brother would receive no jail time. Brad took frequent vacations, making it impossible to get follow up court dates in a timely manner as requested by the judge. Brad never visited with my brother in jail. In fact, Brad refused to even speak to my brother from jail unless I paid to set up a phone account for Brad?s phone number. And even then, Brad would only pick up the phone for my brother during specified times of the day. Brad?s immaturity, and lack of professionalism really began to shine once I started to point out his lack of work on my brother?s case. If Brad truly had my brother?s best interests in mind, he should have excused himself from my brother?s case and allowed him to have a public defender.

Very good attorney, My life was a mess I had charges in 3 different counties surrounding Detroit and one of them a felony which I absconded from probation on. Bradley got one very important case dismissed and got me the minimum county time on the felony if not for him I would've dont 2 years I did 9 months. He's the magic man!

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
