When I founded The Law Office of Mary Beth Kelly, I did so in order to provide skilled and dedicated counsel to people in Lake Mary, Florida. Although I focus my practice on estate planning and administration, I am able to represent families facing a wide array of legal concerns. After getting to know my clients’ individual goals, I help them preserve assets and final wishes by drafting wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, durable powers of attorney, and advance medical directives. Together, we take the appropriate steps to stay in control of assets and move forward confidently.

My law office also handles cases involving the sensitive processes of probate and trust administration. Using 25 years of legal experience, I help families file critical documents with the probate court. I also assist with the distribution of assets, whether or not they are subject to probate.

In addition to estate planning and administration, I offer counsel for broader matters such as:

  • Guardianship law
  • Long-term care
  • Medicaid planning
  • Special needs planning

I also help parents navigate Florida’s strict laws and overcome niche challenges pertaining to children who are 18 years of age. This includes cases involving medical, educational and financial matters.

Whether people need compassionate counsel for estate planning or representation during the administration process, The Law Office of Mary Beth Kelly is there to help. I invite prospective clients from Orlando and surrounding cities as well as greater Seminole County to discuss their situations with me in a preliminary consultation at the firm.

Meeting Ms. Kelly for the first time was what made up our minds. She was polite, courteous and completely aware of all of our needs. After a few questions she was able to advise us as to what documents we needed to update and how we should go about doing this. Our move from South Carolina, where we had our own business, to FL plus our continue to age and need more planning. Ms. Kelly knows her stuff and I feel that she will be a great help for our children after we have gone. I am sleeping better already.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
