Mr. Bonner not only looks to be the sharpest dressed, but he is easily the sharpest tool anyone could hire as their legal weapon. His sincerity and concern for his clients, I've since referred a few, is no act and is evident throughout my dealings with him. He is indeed a legal beast who is still hungry for justice to be had. Unfortunately, I have seen some become calloused and lose interest in their craft. It seems to me that he is as hungry for justice as the day he passed his bar! A true ace!

Very pleased with results from consulting with Attorney James Bonner. From the beginning, Attorney Bonner returned my panicked call late on a Friday, when I was beginning to think nobody worked late on Fridays anymore! He asked me to email my documentation to him and promised to review it and get back to me before my meeting on Monday. He delivered as promised, and his expertise proved valuable for my case. He didn't know me, he knew it was not going to be a lengthy, high income case, but he helped me anyway...I was impressed by his level of concern, he treated me as if I was a long time, valued client that he didn't want to let down. THIS is worth celebrating! I highly recommend Attorney James Bonner, his confidence, knowledge and respect was evident in the way he handled my situation and I've no doubt he can do the same for you.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
