What an amazing attorney. Mr. Degeyter is one of the best disability attorney I know. I was so lucky to have him handle my sister's disability case. He is not a normal disability attorney. He goes out of way to make sure he handles your case. My sister's case became really complicated and he went above and beyond what a disability attorney does. I remember the night I went on the internet looking for a disability attorney. It was about 12:40am and he called me right away. That was when I said to my family, he called this late, he must really care. My intuition was 100% . You can call him anytime or text him and if he is in court, he will text you and tell you that he will call back. He does call back each time. Amazing attorney. My sister has received her benefits but he is still giving me advice when I call him to ask him some questions. Unbelievable!! He really is our guardian angel. I live in New Jersey but my sister lives in Houston and we were communicating back and forth almost everyday. He knows the law and he goes in deep. He is a brilliant attorney. I recommend Degeyter law firm to anyone who is looking for an attorney. He is a shark. You can't play with him. He is also kind and personable. I want to broadcast Degeyter law if I can to anyone. Please pick up the phone and call him. You will not regret that phone call.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
