I don't know what to think of this firm, I was forwarded over to them from Micheal Lamonsoff and I have had zero to no communication with them. I'm still waiting to hear from them and will give a more in-depth review once that happens.

Dave Carr was a total waste of time and money to put it nicely. It became evident that he lacks the experience in handling contested cases. Despite me informing him to put in motions- he failed to do so, which any compitent lawyer knows to do. He never met with me to discuss Judgements, or conferences thoroughly as he always was often unavailable, voice mail full, or just never returned calls/messages leaving me to have to figure out deadlines on my own. He then writes saying he was merging with another firm and no longer on my case yet continued to represent me, and when asked about the other counsel to be handling my case- he completely had no response. Instead of apologizing and correcting the matter, he decided to be unprofessional by emailing "find another lawyer, too many complaints" and withdrew for his incompetence. It was funny to see that he did have the capability to put in for that withdrawal motion which was the first and fastest motion I ever saw him put in. Save yourself the hassle and retain a professional, and knowledgeable lawyer who will fight for you, walk you every step of the way and file the appropriate things you need for a successful chance in your divorce, as the the saying goes- garbage in, garbage out.

I have tried to contact my lawyer several times and not received a single response. I?m worried that my documents were even submitted. Santoro Carr might have scammed me

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
