We didn't feel like we cheated the system; that's not what we were going for. However, we got the results we were hoping for. We spent 2 weeks trying to find a lawyer in our area until we were directed to seek out someone who specialized in Education Law. While he was not from our local area, he was already familiar with our school board and other members of the disciplinary committee. Plus, he does not forward you documents you are entitled to, and he will take your case and drag then disappear. Words can't describe my disappointment in the level of service provided by Nathan Soowal while representing my children in our case against the school district. In the almost four months we have been trying to work with him absolutely nothing has been accomplished. He drug his feet filing our due process complaint (he waited about 6 weeks) allowing the district to build a case undermining our concerns. All the while he never truly discussed with us a concrete plan to effectively request the supports our children deserved to succeed in the school system. He sometimes took days to return calls if he did at all. The few times we did discuss my children's case he seemed very unfamiliar with their IEPS and appeared to be fumbling through them while discussing things rather than having prepared notes or a plan that he developed earlier. Everything seemed to be "on the fly". It felt to me that maybe he is taking on more work than he can effectively handle. At our resolution meeting he just sat back and let the school's attorney run the show allowing it to end with no agreement made. He never reached out with our next course of action leaving us more confused and upset. Long story short we are pulling our children out of the public school system and the only thing Nathan got us is a hefty credit card balance and now a monthly reminder of how he failed us every time I go to pay the bill.

Did not get my child information until the day before the hearing. But got paid on the first day. Showed up to the hearing really for nothing. You basically represent yourself. May have said 3 words in the hearing. Totally waste of money, thanks for nothing.

Poor communication, does not update you of your case. Apparently my case was close and I wasn?t aware. As of today I don?t even know what happened.

This lawyer is dishonest and not law knowledgeable. I would not recommend him to anybody. He took my money and started working on my case then left me in the middle of nowhere. He doesn't answer his phone, never calls back and doesn't respond to emails. He disappeared.
