Mark was the best lawyer I have EVER used. He was friendly, professional, hard working, the list goes on. I came to him with a chapter 7 case and he guided me through the entire process. If you need any service that he provides I STRONGLY recommend him. He went above and beyond to accommodate all of my needs during the process and made me feel confident about the case.

I had come to the end of my rope with charge card debt. Lost my business in the pandemic and really needed to file for chapter 7 bankruptcy. Mark was recommended to me by another lawyer and I was definitely steered in the right direction. Mark was quick and efficient and always available to answer my questions. I couldn't believe how fast my bankruptcy was discharged and closed. I highly recommend him.

I do not think there is enough characters available in this review box to write my AMAZING experience with Mark. Mark took care of everything and anything regarding the sale of my home and the purchase of my new home. Perfect example of Marks character, the seller of property I bought did not get the P&S to Mark until business hours on a Friday and it was due that Monday. No problem in this attorneys eyes, he reviewed it with, discussed his concerns , made revisions and returned it..... I want to note this all occurred Sat and Sun, when most attorneys will not even answer the phone. Due to some other issues, I needed to stay at my current home 2 weeks longer, again.. no problem Mark called my buyers attorney and for the life I have no clue how he did but he miraculously got them to let me stay 2 weeks longer after closing. Full disclosure, I tend to freak out when anything happens, I ask a millions, I send a millions emails on the same day. Mark responded with 30 minutes and very few people are capable of putting me at ease " Hey, Lori it is not a big deal and only mean.." or I will find out now but do not worry" He knows what he is doing, amazingly professional, extremely detailed, and does not miss a trick, yet he is so down to earth and easy to talk with that it after a bit I find like I had known him for years. Both closing went perfect , He reviewed each document with me in detail and I remember thinking to myself, I trust Mark, just tell me where to sign. I messed up signing a document and could get back to his office. Mark said " I will come to you office in Lowell as we need to make the FedEx deadline, sure enough that afternoon, I get a call from the lobby I have someone here to see me. Paper was signed and FedEx cut off was made. I deal with all kinds of people with my job, I am trained to be able read people and can profile someone within 30 minutes. Based on my experience with Mark, he is a good , honest, caring person. It is not an act it is who Mark Difonte inside. I could go on and on. I recommend him to anyone and everyone, you will be over charged, every i will be dotted and T will be crossed. I do not often do review but this I wanted to Thank you so much Mark for all you did for me and gaining my trust

My husband had just lost his job and our debt was mounting. We were not yet falling behind but didn't want to file for Capter 7 bankruptcy. We met with Mark and he was absolutely amazing. He took the time to explain the entire process to us, what the long term impact was and our options. Mark was there with us ever step of the way and whenever we had questions he was always available. Even a few years after we filed when things popped up I would reach out and email and always got a response. I cannot recommend Mark and his firm enough. Mark helped our family through a scary time in our life and we are in such a better position now because of it. THANK YOU!

Mark was wonderful in reviewing documents for real estate transaction and providing explanation so that I understood the process. He was patient, professional, and personable. Mark reassured me and made this transaction a wonderful experience.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
