Winchendon Family Law Firm

Overview

I focus my practice almost exclusively in the Family Law area. I enjoy the area of law. I am compassionate and caring about the struggles people go through during a separation, divorce or disagreement over the co-parenting of children. As a lawyer, I want my clients to feel as if they are not going through this situation alone. I am there to help and to reduce the stress that litigation can bring...

I focus my practice almost exclusively in the Family Law area. I enjoy the area of law. I am compassionate and caring about the struggles people go through during a separation, divorce or disagreement over the co-parenting of children. As a lawyer, I want my clients to feel as if they are not going through this situation alone. I am there to help and to reduce the stress that litigation can bring. I explain the unknown and assist you with making decisions, explaining each step as you journey through the process.

I am a wife, mother of three adult children and grandmother to two beautiful grandchildren. I graduated from Fitchburg State College in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science, Political Science, Cum Laude. I attended the Massachusetts School of Law and was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in 2012, the United States District Cout of Massachusetts in 2013, the New Hampshire Bar in 2019. I am certified as a Mediator through the Center for Negotiation and Mediation training, in 2011. I am trained in Collaborative Law, I am a Guardian ad Litem and I am an ARC attorney. I am a member of the Worcester Bar Association, Mass Bar Association, M.A.G.A.C.

As a Guardian ad Litem and an ARC attorney, my focus is the best interest of the children and advocating the wishes of the children. I use the training and skills as part of my everyday practice and stress to clients that children are the most important consideration in any custody/divorce litigation if they are part of the process.

Prior to attending Law School, I owned and operated several successful businesses in addition to being a realtor, landlord and a Paralegal. I bring a wealth of life experience and insight to my clients and advocate for them during their matters and for their futures.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
