My mentally ill wife was not compliant with her meds and had me arrested on a Domestic Violence with choking charge. I hired Jeremy Sylestine on the recommendation of family friends. The Judge said that he was very sharp, and from a seemingly impossible position, he was able to get the charges dismissed.

Awesome attorney helped my fiance get his life back. Literally took 2 days for him to negotiate a complete release for him.. went from being in jail on an MTR to walking away from jail, huge fines, and lengthy probation term with time left on it.

Jeremy Sylestine is an incredibly skilled and talented lawyer. He is also a man of high integrity. From the minute we met I felt that I was in good hands in regards to my legal situation / case. He made a lot of progress on my behalf in a very short amount of time ; and resolved an issue for me with absolute professional precision. He is an excellent communicator, and was able to navigate communications with the other people involved within my case in a way that seamlessly supported me throughout the entire situation. When working with Jeremy Sylestine, I felt that I had the best possible representation that I could of had. I would strongly recommend him to my close friends and family should they need similar guidance and services.

just now NEW Great attorney! Keeps in contact with you, and does everything he says he will. I was charged with 1st and 2nd degree man/del.. It was dismissed.. In the meantime he was able to get my bond reinstated, and I was able to be in the free until charges were dropped. He is one of the few attorneys, that actually answers and/or responds to your calls quickly. He is ready to fight for you, and knows his stuff! I definitely recommend him!

Jeremy is without a doubt the best. I concur with every opinion here before mine that he is indeed the best. He makes no promises, except that he will give your case his best and he indeed does. Place your trust in the hands of a man who has lived and knows the ins and outs of both sides of the Travis County criminal justice system.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
