5.0 out of 5 stars

Amanda is amazing. She's easy to talk to (no excess legal language) and she's incredibly down to earth. She was prompt with her replies and resolved all my issues incredibly efficiently. Amanda even gave a great referral for an elder care issue I was trying to resolve. The best thing is that Amanda didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need. She could have charged me for a lot more, but she didn't. She had outstanding ethics and compassion helping me settle my mother's estate. I would HIGHLY recommend Amanda to anyone.

Amanda provided excellent service and explained everything in great detail in helping my wife and myself with our estate planning needs. She made herself available anytime if we had questions. She is a true professional and I would recommend her to any one.

We were referred to Amanda through my financial advisor and we are so happy we went with her. She helped with my surrogate/probate process and made it very easy. We were so pleased how she was knowledgeable, professional and there to answer any question we had with a quick response. Since now that my process is over, we have hired her again to do our trust and wills for myself and my husband. I highly recommend her!

Ms. Becker handled my concerns and questions like a true professional. Her kind approach put my and my wife's worries at ease as we worked to set our affairs in order. I recommend her firm to anyone looking for a personal approach from someone who understands the stress of navigating the legal system.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
