5.0 out of 5 stars

I've had to go to court multiple times against my ex. I've used 4 different lawyers now, (because I've been unhappy with how the lawyers have been, and yes I've won each case), Roland and his team are by far the best I've ever dealt with. He was very professional, there when I needed him, was very well prepared, and the way he handled everything was brilliant! With out giving his tactics away, he will ask questions to the point to where you wonder what he's doing and make you think he's messing up... He gets the opposition to feel comfortable and then he turns it on crushes it! It's awesome when your lawyer is so Intelligent that he even you didn't see it coming! Be honest with him and he will represent you better than imaginable!

If I could give less than one star, I would. My mother hired Roland to handle her divorce in 2023. His website proclaims his USMC service as a selling point, but as a family with 40+ years of Marine Corps service and my mother herself, a disabled vet, we very literally could not be more disappointed. Roland dropped the ball at every single opportunity, and never once took responsibility or made effective changes moving forward. Multiple times he didn?t even know he was speaking to my mother and disclosed information pertaining to another persons case, as he was incredibly disorganized and overwhelmed. He would take full weeks to respond to calls or emails. After expressing these concerns and expecting him to change following his apology and promises of the future treatment, he continued to be unavailable. He didn?t even show up for her mediation, and never once followed up. I feel guilty for encouraging my mother to hire him. While the outcome of her case may not have changed very much due to minimal assets, her overall experience and support by her attorney could have been light years better. Do yourself or your loved ones a favor and do not hire this attorney.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
