The the reviewer above is an 8 time convicted felon that was caught on video running a stop sign and followed to her residence where she was recorded exiting the drivers seat. She was arrested for felony DWI. She was on parole when she picked up the felony DWI. Her blood test was almost 3 times the legal limit. She not only filed a habeas corpus which she lost she filed a civil suit claiming malpractice which she also lost summarily. Since she has been released from prison, she has picked up numerous driving offenses. She blames her attorney for he own criminal contact. Her name is Eve Jennings Taalak.

I have used Mr. Walter several times for myself and my family members. He is as good as it gets in South Dakota I would highly recommend him!

he made a competitive statement to entice me to retain him then when I instructed him to subpoena my doctor he refused. He through my whole case because he had ties to DOC and they wanted to retaliate me for recording them for illegal activities. then I filed my own legal malpractice suit against him and its public records. he violated several of my rights and he represented Govner Duggards daughter for her 6th DUI too. which she never did any prison time. this is all true and can be seen in my case. that was the statement he said to get me to retain him which ended up being true. but that violated the professional rules of conduct. but he has ties to immunity to break the law and walk scott free. how sad. do not hire him he is corrupt and unethical.,

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
