AZ Lab Life Sciences Law Firm is a boutique law firm that provides U.S.-China life sciences regulatory, compliance, and transactional services. We are specialized in advising companies and scientists on regulatory strategies and bringing their most-promising therapeutics to the market in the U.S. and China. We help companies and scientists resolve regulatory issues before the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and China National Medical Product Administration (NMPA) and advise on conducting clinical trials, use of foreign clinical trial data, obtaining marketing approvals, regulatory exclusivities, orphan drugs, promotion, post-market compliance, manufacturing and related issues during the life cycle of medical products in the U.S. and China. We regularly conduct life sciences due diligence, represent companies in negotiating and drafting a suite of agreements such as life sciences licensing and collaboration agreements, asset purchase agreements, clinical trial agreements, expanded access agreements, manufacturing and quality agreements, pharmacovigilance agreements and other commercial agreements, and have experience in venture capital investment and corporate transactions both in the U.S. and China.

Led by an experienced bilingual lawyer who has more than ten years’ experience in the U.S. FDA and China NMPA regulatory field and is well acquainted with the Chinese and the U.S. legal, business and cultural environment, AZ Lab aims to provide a full range of legal solutions to you from when you have the first breakthrough discovery in the lab to marketing your potential therapeutics in the U.S. and China.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
