Russo is the managing partner at Kirshenbaum & Kirshenbaum. He oversees the attorneys at the firm. He allowed Jesse Nason to take a case where their was a clear conflict of interest due to the Judge being a former partner at the firm. This resulted in me being kept from my child now for 5+ years. Contacted Chris lately and he became unprofessional and divulged my private and confidential information on the Web.

When a client posts information about the representation, attorneys are free to respond and defend their actions. We acknowledged and disclosed the conflict with the Judge. The Judge did not see it as a conflict, but we withdrew as counsel before a hearing was held or any findings were made. The court allowed you time to retain a new attorney and present any evidence you wanted at a full hearing on the merits. Information that is public information on the Court Portal, discloses you had other attorneys represent you in these past 5 years of which one was court appointed and two who you did not have nice things to say about. The last time the case was scheduled for a hearing, your attorney attended but you did not and the Court Defaulted you. With that backdrop, it is unfair to attempt to lay blame onus for your current position. We are truly sorry for the position you are in currently. Family is very important to us. But yes, I will defend my firm when we did nothing wrong just was we defend and represent our clients. We sincerely wish you well and hope you are able to reunify with your children

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
