Shawn Deery practices primarily in the area of product liability litigation. He has experience managing cases for automotive, automotive component, motorcycle, and ATV manufacturers. He has also defended clients in premises liability litigation.
In the course of defending his motor vehicle related clients, Shawn has handled matters involving seatbelts and belt buckles, airbags, motorcycles, and ATVs. Some claims alleged in these cases have been the inertial unlatch of seat belt buckles, recalled seat belt buckles, airbag failure to deploy, defective transmissions, and defective helmets, among others.
Prior to private practice, Shawn served as a staff attorney to the S.C. Court of Appeals and as a research assistant to Professor F. Patrick Hubbard at the University of South Carolina School of Law. He also served in the U.S. Air Force as a crash fire rescue man from 1991-1997.
