Attorney Information
Overview
Josh is an experienced litigator who has been in practice since 2006. Josh handles trustee and creditor litigation in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court and represents corporate clients and lenders in disputes that involve breach of contracts or collections. He also represents individuals in real estate litigation, personal injury litigation, and general civil litigation.
Before moving to Greenville, his wife’s hometown, Josh cut his teeth with five years in a small-town general practice in his hometown of Danville, Kentucky. This general practice foundation in a variety of disciplines allowed Josh to gain experience in numerous areas of dispute resolution and transactional work, and gave him the right blend of skills and responsiveness needed to adeptly practice in various areas of the law.
Josh has been recognized multiple times by his peers for his outstanding work and commitment to the spirit of the legal profession, including being named one of the Upstate’s Legal Elite in Greenville Business Magazine every year since 2017, and being honored as the top vote recipient for Bankruptcy and Creditor’s Rights in 2021. His knowledge of the law, professional work ethic, and advocacy on behalf of clients has made him a trusted advisor for both individuals and businesses alike.
Josh has always been active in trade associations and civic boards. In addition to his activities with professional organizations, he is committed to the community in which he lives and works. When not in the office or courtroom, Josh enjoys spending time with his wife, Erin, and their three children, and rooting for the Kentucky Wildcats. He and his family are active members of Christ Church Episcopal.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
