Hired Attorney 2023-2024Mr Johnson is representing my father on an PCR and its been over a Year and and still haven't received an order from the court of appeals. He does not get back in contact with his client at all nor does he put up any legal battle to fight or properly represent his client. I do not recommend him at all and will be contacting the bar association.

Consulted Attorney 2020-2023Ola Johnson can not be bothered to answer or return calls or text messages or even messages left with his paralegal. Even with a client doing all of the research and let work for him he doesn't seem to be able to get motions turned into the courts. I have contacted the bar with this information and hope that he will be held accountable as he does not take his responsibility seriously.

Consulted Attorney 2021-2022Johnson is the only attorney ive ever known to repeatedly not answer his clients phone calls or to respond at all. He was appointed to a case where he put zero effort to represent his client nor did he know any details about the case. He did not provide paperwork requested by client that would have helped in the case. Johnson would not want someone to represent him the same way he did for the client. Would not recommend ola Johnson to anyone

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
