Overview

Mr

Mr. Harrell, born in 1963 in Waverly, Virginia, spent his first six years as a lawyer with Nelson, Mullins, Riley and Scarborough, a respected South Carolina corporate defense law firm. But in 1994 when he joined the Joye Law Firm, he switched his focus to helping individuals in cases involving workers' compensation claims and defective products. Mr. Harrell heads up the firm's workers' compensation and mass torts practices.

Mr. Harrell is a frequent author and speaker for the South Carolina Bar's Continuing Legal Education Program. Among the programs where he has been a featured speaker are "The Law of Workers' Compensation in South Carolina," "Trying the Automobile Injury Case," "Paralegals and the Litigation Team in South Carolina," and "Premises Liability: Preparation and Trial of a Difficult Case in South Carolina."

Active in legal and civic organizations, Mr. Harrell serves as a board member of the William and Mary Law School Association and ad sales chairman for the Rotary/Red Cross high school basketball tournament in North Charleston. He also has served as a pack leader for the Christ Our King Cub Scouts Pack 470 and as a Little League coach for the Mount Pleasant Recreation Department.

Mr. Harrell and his wife, Jeannie, have three children - two sons and a daughter. His recreational interests include Civil War history, softball, kayaking, South Carolina Gamecocks football and NASCAR.
