Hired Law firm 2021-2022The past year I’ve spent 14,000$ in fees alone in Gustafsons office. The only thing he has helped us do is create more trouble for us to spend more money in his office. He will take advantage of your vulnerable situation. Do not rely on this man to hold your best interest dealing with criminal court. If I wanted a public defender they are nearly free. He has 0 respect for the people he works for. I’m not here saying this because I’m mad with him or because he lost a case this is the truth. I just fired him from my case that he was representing us on even thought Ive already paid him 6,000$ 2.5 months ago to represent me during this case. I have lost that money and hired another lawyer because we can’t trust him to do the job I hired him for. He played us like a fiddle from the beginning. Please take this advice and don’t let yourself get in the position we’ve allowed him to put us in. There were cases he won but not because he’s good, only because we had evidence contradicting these so-called victims police report. That’s not the point the point is he will TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU.

Consulted Law firm 2021Due to my own stupidity, I needed a lawyer to represent myself in a legal matter. I am from the north and was worried about finding a attorney in North Myrtle Beach. I did my research and decided to retain Richard H Gustafson as my lawyer. Believe me, I had friends and family recommend lawyers in the area but did not feel comfortable with their advice. I choose Richard and he exceeded all my expectations in my legal matter. If you need an attorney in Myrtle Beach I would advise you to get with Richard.

Hired Law firm 2018-2019My daughter and I were vacationing in Myrtle Beach, my daughter was charged with an under age drinking on the beach. Almost ruined our whole trip. I immediately googled attorneys in the North Myrtle Beach area and a select few came up. On a whim I selected Gustafson law. The Lord was with us that day. He took care of the situation quick and easy and was very comforting to us. We continued our vacation with no worries on our mind. I highly recommend Gustavsson law to anyone who is in need of any legal services.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
