Casey M. Brown - Pawleys Island, SC

Casey Brown is the supervising criminal defense attorney for all locations of Winslow Law, LLC. He is licensed to practice law in the State of South Carolina and in the District Court of South Carolina.

Casey grew up in both Columbia and the Grand Strand area. Casey graduated from the University of South Carolina with a degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice making the Dean’s List in school.

During the summers, he worked as an Ocean Rescue swimmer in the grand strand area protecting millions of tourists every year and became supervisor. After undergrad, Casey attended Western Michigan University for law school and returned to South Carolina after graduation. Casey began his career working for Richland County Court Appointed Special Advocates (C.A.S.A.) in both family court and the Court of Appeals in Columbia, SC. He also volunteered his time as a Guardian ad Litem for abused or neglected children of Richland County, SC.

In 2014, Casey moved back to the grand strand to work at the Fifteen Circuit Public Defender’s Office defending thousands of indigent clients in circuit court. There he gained experience as a trial attorney winning his client’s freedom in trial from misdemeanors to felonies. Casey then moved to private practice to continue to fight for the rights of clients in defending criminal cases in various levels of the justice system from municipal to circuit court. Casey has represented many high-profile clients and even handled matters that became the focus of episodes of Dateline NBC.

In 2019, he was appointed to the Surfside Beach Planning Commission by the Town Council and voted by the Commission to be the vice-chairman.

In 2021, Casey joined Winslow Law, LLC to supervise the criminal defense division of the firm and representing clients in all types of cases from traffic violations to major felonies.

In March of 2023, Casey taught the Criminal Law section for the SC Bar in the “Law School for non-lawyers” in Columbia, SC.

Casey is devoted to serving his community through volunteering and helping his clients navigate the murky waters of the justice system while defending their rights against the government. Now living in the midlands, when he is not practicing law, Casey spends time with his wife and son, and their three dogs.
