Tyler J. Arend - Sioux Falls, SD

Tyler J. Arend is an associate attorney at Reiter Law Firm. He is a South Dakota native who grew up in Summit, South Dakota. Tyler attended South Dakota State University, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in 2022, majoring in Economics and Political Science with a minor in Legal Studies. He graduated magna cum laude.

Tyler went on to attend the University of South Dakota Knudson School of Law, where he received his Juris Doctor in 2025, graduating summa cum laude. While in law school, Tyler was a member of the South Dakota Law Review, sharpening his legal research and writing abilities, and participated in the Tribal Wills Clinic, assisting clients with estate planning needs in tribal communities.

Following law school, Tyler had the honor of clerking for Chief Judge Roberto A. Lange at the United States District Court for the District of South Dakota from August 2025 through August 2026. During law school, Tyler also gained valuable experience through internships with Reiter Law Firm, Davenport Evans, and Focus Partners Wealth, where he developed a strong foundation in litigation, business planning, and client service.

Tyler was admitted to the State Bar of South Dakota in 2026. His practice focuses on business planning and civil litigation including business litigation and property disputes. Tyler is committed to professional development and community involvement and looks forward to participating in activities and committees within the State Bar of South Dakota and other professional organizations.

Outside of work, Tyler enjoys powerlifting, hiking local trails, hunting, and following South Dakota State Jackrabbits football. He also enjoys spending time with his girlfriend, Liz, and their son, Xander, who keeps him very busy. Tyler is a parishioner of the Cathedral of Saint Joseph in Sioux Falls and values being involved in his local community.
