Jennifer G. Gaydon - Clarksville, TN

Jennifer is a native of Tennessee, born and raised in Robertson County. Jennifer attended the University of Tennessee where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Electronic Media, graduating magna cum laude. As an undergraduate, Jennifer was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority, the University of Tennessee Student Alumni Association, and Mortar Board Honor Society.

Jennifer attended law school at the University of Tennessee College of Law where she focused on advocacy and dispute resolution. Jennifer received the Distinguished Student Attorney Service Award for Advocacy and served as a Student Materials Editor for the Tennessee Law Review. While in law school, Jennifer’s case synopsis of Tenn. Med. Ass’n v. Bluecross Blueshield of Tenn. was chosen for publication in the Spring 2008 issue of Transactions: The Tennessee Journal of Business Law.

During law school, Jennifer worked with the University of Tennessee Pro Bono Homeless Project and served as a Volunteer Income Tax Associate. She was a member of the Student Bar Association and served as the Vice President of Law Women. Jennifer completed a judicial externship with the Honorable Judge D. Kelly Thomas, Jr., of the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals, and served as a student attorney in the law school Advocacy Legal Clinic.

Following law school, Jennifer worked in a small law office in Knoxville where she practiced criminal and civil litigation and worked on numerous appeals. This is where Jennifer discovered her interest in and knack for legal writing, which remains a large part of her practice today. Jennifer joined Batson Nolan as an associate attorney in 2013, where she practiced civil litigation before moving to Chicago. Jennifer worked in the Office of the Illinois Attorney General where she represented state employees in civil rights actions and successfully defended the State of Illinois at trial. Jennifer has also worked as an instructor in the legal studies program at South College, where she taught classes on legal ethics, administrative law and the Tennessee legal system.

Jennifer happily rejoined Batson Nolan in the spring of 2024 and practices civil litigation. She primarily works in the Springfield office. Jennifer has represented individuals and governmental entities in all phases of litigation, and has authored numerous appellate briefs and dispositive motions in both federal and state court cases.

In her spare time, Jennifer enjoys cheering on the Vols and traveling with her husband and three children.
