Overview
Shannon van Tol concentrates her practice in the areas of business, commercial and complex litigation, Arbitration and Mediation. She assists businesses, financial institutions and individuals with a wide range of legal issues, both transactional and litigation. Her diverse experience includes representing clients in a variety of litigation in state and federal courts ranging from simple collection matters to complex commercial litigation, property owner association disputes, and construction litigation. She has also served as General Counsel for a community bank and has experience advising clients with respect to business disputes and dissolutions, corporate governance, loan transactions and other contract negotiations. She is a Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 31 Mediator and enjoys helping people and businesses find creative solutions to complex problems. Ms. van Tol has also completed appellate court judicial clerkships with Judge Joseph M. Tipton and Judge Norma McGee Ogle on the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals and has taught pretrial litigation classes at the University of Tennessee College of Law as an adjunct professor.
