Originally from the Chicago suburbs, Mr. Higgins first came to the Mid-South as a school teacher and high school basketball coach with Teach for America, living and working in Marianna, Arkansas. Mr. Higgins then attended law school at the University of Minnesota, where he served as a managing editor of the law review, was elected to the Order of the Coif honor society, and graduated magna cum laude.
