Attorney Information
Overview
Margaret Moore’s extensive experience representing hospitals, and her meticulous nature make her one of the profession’s most thorough and prepared attorneys. She has represented hospitals and medical centers throughout Middle Tennessee and in West Tennessee at the trial court and appellate levels.
Margaret’s trial experience includes cases involving premises liability, medical/hospital negligence, wrongful death and the representation of physicians and hospitals in cases of professional liability. While her cases may vary, her approach remains the same: listen, research, prepare.
Because health care regulations and laws change often and standards are evolving, Margaret relies on her experience and attention to detail to stay abreast of information that can be fundamental to successful outcomes for her clients. She is accustomed to working with health care professionals and staff at all levels, from physicians and administrators to technicians, nurses and other health care employees.
Margaret is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association and a former Secretary of the Nashville Bar Association. Before beginning private practice in 1996, she served as Judicial Law Clerk to the Hon. Barbara N. Haynes in the Davison County Third Circuit Court. When not practicing law, she enjoys spending time with her family and cooking.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
