Attorney Information
Overview
Eric Gerard has spent his entire career protecting honest, hardworking Americans from those who abuse power, break the rules, and endanger our communities. A former state and federal prosecutor and now one of Texas’s most respected trial lawyers, Eric brings elite litigation firepower to Keith & Lorfing’s civil trial practice.
A graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law and top scorer on the Texas Bar Exam, Eric began his career in the rough-and-tumble courtrooms of New York City as an Assistant District Attorney, later serving as a federal prosecutor in Florida. He led complex trials involving fraud, public corruption, and violent crime—experience that now informs his disciplined, high-pressure approach to catastrophic injury litigation.
In the past five years alone, Eric has recovered more than $250 million for victims of serious injury and corporate misconduct. Recent results include $13.5 million in a contested pedestrian collision, $6 million in an 18-wheeler crash, $5.88 million in a vehicular injury case, $4.55 million in a commercial motor vehicle crash, $2.2 million for a corporate employee’s invasion of customer privacy, and $2 million for a homeowner electrocuted due to negligent repairs—alongside numerous other seven-, eight-, and even nine-figure recoveries.
In addition to his work as a partner at Sorrels Law, Eric trains lawyers nationwide on deposition technique and litigation strategy. He serves as faculty for the National Institute for Trial Advocacy and regularly presents on trial skills and case theory development.
At Keith & Lorfing, Eric serves as a senior trial lawyer and strategist on high-exposure personal injury and wrongful death cases—bringing big-city results to West Texans while reinforcing the firm’s commitment to freedom, fairness, and real accountability for those who hurt others and refuse to follow the rules.
