Overview

Steve Turner is currently Of Counsel to the BDF Law Group. Previously Steve served as Partner and Chief Bankruptcy Counsel. He is based in our Austin, Texas office.

He attended Abilene Christian University earning a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1979, and received his Juris Doctor degree from Oklahoma City University School of Law in 1988.

Steve is licensed with the State Bars of Texas and Oklahoma, and is licensed to practice before the United States District Court for the Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas, and is a member of the State Bar of Texas.

He served as treasurer for the Bankruptcy Section of the Austin Bar Association from 1999-2000. He has represented numerous national lending institutions, as well as a number of Chapter 7 Trustees in the Western District of Texas. These cases concerned a variety of assets and issues, some of which include ranching, high-tech firms, patents and licenses, oil and gas, heavy equipment, physician management companies, auto-mobile dealerships, real estate development projects and restaurants.

He also has extensive experience representing creditors in Chapter 7, 12 and 13 cases. He has been recognized by Texas Monthly as one of the "Texas Super Lawyers" in bankruptcy and is a participant as author and speaker for continuing legal education courses.
