Attorney Information
Overview
Hiba Rashid focuses her practice on family law, where she brings a strong litigation background to complex and often high conflict matters. She is committed to guiding individuals and families through some of the most difficult transitions in their lives with clarity, strategy, and compassion.
Her approach is informed by early exposure to the judicial process through legal clerkships with judges in Collin County, where she observed proceedings across multiple areas of law, including family law, and developed valuable insight into judicial reasoning, courtroom procedure, and effective advocacy.
Originally from Houston, Texas, Hiba graduated from the University of Houston Honors College in 2021 before moving to Dallas to pursue her Juris Doctor at UNT Dallas College of Law. During law school, she served in leadership roles within several student organizations, including the Student Bar Association, the American Muslim Law Student Association, and the Asian Pacific American Law Student Association. She was also actively involved in mock trial, where she further developed her passion for courtroom advocacy.
Hiba graduated with her J.D. in May 2024 and successfully passed the Texas Bar Exam that same year.
Hiba began her legal career in civil litigation, handling matters including commercial disputes, insurance defense, premises liability, and transportation related cases. She first practiced as an associate attorney at Fletcher, Farley, Shipman & Salinas, where she developed a strong foundation in case strategy, motion practice, and courtroom advocacy.
Early in her career, however, Hiba recognized that her true passion lay in family law and in advocating for individuals and families during some of the most personal and life changing moments they face. With that conviction, she made an intentional transition into family law, where she now applies her litigation experience to high conflict and emotionally complex matters with both strength and compassion.
In addition to her legal work, Hiba is deeply committed to serving underserved communities. She has contributed to pro bono initiatives supporting survivors of domestic violence through her work with Texas Muslim Women's Foundation and remains passionate about community centered advocacy.
Outside of the office, Hiba enjoys roller skating, crocheting, crafting, and spending time with her husband and daughter.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
