Derek S. Dees - Austin, TX

Derek S. Dees is an attorney at Deyerle Silva Smith, PLLC. His areas of focus include complex divorce, child custody disputes, marital property division, and other family law issues.

As a child of divorce, Derek knows firsthand the impact family law has on all parties involved. He brings the utmost care to each case as he works diligently to reach an amicable solution for his clients.

Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Derek graduated from Texas A&M University in College Station with a degree in Business Management. Derek received his Doctor of Jurisprudence from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law in 2014, where he earned the Dean’s Scholarship. While in law school, Derek clerked at a Dallas family law firm which furthered his desire and commitment to practice family law. Derek has extensive litigation experience advocating for clients in complex divorce and child custody matters. His ability to empathize on a personal level about the difficulties of the divorce process enables Derek to positively impact his clients while helping them navigate through stressful situations.

Outside of work, you can find Derek running the trail at Lady Bird Lake, walking his dog, Maverick, and watching all things sports on television.
