Overview
Emilio Longoria is a civil litigator who focuses on eminent domain proceedings and property law disputes. A native Houstonian, Longoria graduated from Strake Jesuit High School, received a Bachelor of Arts in History from Rice University, and graduated from the University of Texas School of Law with honors.
Prior to joining the firm in 2019, Longoria taught at Cristo Rey Jesuit College Preparatory, worked in the Texas Legislature, and clerked for United States District Court Judge George C. Hanks, Jr. of the Southern District of Texas. He is admitted to practice in all Texas state courts, the Southern District of Texas, the Northern District of Texas, the Eastern District of Texas, the Western District of Texas, the Federal Court of Claims and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Longoria is an active member of several organizations in and around Texas. For example, Longoria is a member of the Texas Bar College, and he serves on the Board of Directors for the Galveston County Bar Association. Longoria is also a member of the State Bar of Texas Court Rules Committee, and he served as an advisory member for the Texas Pattern Jury Charge Committee, which focuses on oil and gas law. In his spare time, Longoria volunteers for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo’s Parade Committee and Poultry Auction Committee.
In 2021, Longoria accepted a tenure-track faculty position with St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio, Texas. As an Assistant Professor of Law, Longoria teaches a range of property law courses at St. Mary’s, including Land Use Regulation and Property Law.
