Overview

“Whether building a case from the ground up or preparing for trial, my focus is always the same: tell my client's story and win.”

Kim approaches every case with passion, precision, and an analytical eye, recognizing that behind every case is a person whose life has been fundamentally changed.

Kim graduated from Vanderbilt University, which is routinely ranked as one of the best universities in the country. She then attended Brooklyn Law School, where she graduated magna cum laude.

Kim began her legal career in a renowned New York City medical malpractice firm, where she sharpened her skills and handle on complex medical issues.

Kim then moved to Austin, where she served as national coordinating counsel on large-scale, mass tort litigation. Through that work, she gained firsthand insight into how insurance companies defend and attempt to minimize claims — insight she now leverages to advocate aggressively on behalf of her clients.

Kim Ohrn has over a decade of litigation experience in high-stakes cases. Licensed in both Texas and New York, Kim currently represents individuals and families who have been seriously harmed by medical negligence and wrongful conduct. She is committed to holding wrongdoers accountable.

Kim Ohrn graduated in top 10% of her law school class and has spent a decade handling complex personal injury cases.

Some lawyers publish comparative information regarding the services that they provide which may be subject to specific comparative communications restrictions.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
