Overview
Lauren is a seasoned litigator whose practice centers on complex civil and commercial litigation, as well as legal ethics and professional responsibility. She represents a diverse array of clients, including large corporations, small businesses, municipalities, state agencies, and individuals, in both litigation and alternative dispute resolution.
Lauren has substantial experience litigating in state and federal courts, as well as before administrative tribunals. Her litigation portfolio spans a wide range of matters, including breach of contract, tort claims, breach of warranty, fraud, deceptive trade practices, tortious interference, election law, and real estate disputes. She also has years of experience navigating Texas’s evolving cannabis laws, advising clients on both regulatory compliance and litigation strategy.
In her ethics and professional responsibility practice, Lauren regularly advises attorneys, law firms, in-house counsel, and law students on a full spectrum of ethical and risk management issues. Her work includes matters involving legal malpractice, law firm management and employment, fee disputes, conflicts of interest, disqualification motions, confidentiality and privilege, attorney discipline, and character and fitness proceedings. She is frequently called upon to advise on fiduciary and ethical considerations surrounding lateral hiring, law firm mergers, and dissolutions.
Lauren has notable experience representing law students before the Texas Board of Law Examiners in licensing matters and is widely respected for her work in this nuanced area.
Prior to joining Wright & Greenhill, Lauren practiced at an AmLaw Top 3 firm and a leading Texas legal ethics boutique firm. Her prior work includes high-stakes litigation in environmental law, municipal governance, real estate litigation, and land use law, with clients in the construction, energy, and public sectors.
Lauren earned her J.D. with honors from the University of Texas School of Law in 2007 and her B.B.A. in Marketing and International Business from the University of Texas in 2004. She is admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Western and Southern Districts of Texas and the Southern and Central Districts of California, and is a member of both the State Bar of Texas and the State Bar of California.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
