Overview
My name is Marissa Giovenco and I have been practicing in criminal law for over 11 years. I obtained my undergraduate degree in 2005 from the University of North Texas in Criminal Justice and my law degree from South Texas College of Law in 2011. Prior to completing my law degree, I worked in the legal department at the Small Business Administration assisting business owners in obtaining loans to save their business after devastating hurricanes, including hurricane Katrina. While in law school, I interned for the Kelly Law firm which primarily focused on personal injury cases. I accepted my first Attorney position as an Assistant County Attorney in Amarillo, TX at the Potter County Attorney’s office where I prosecuted misdemeanor offenses for a little over two years. In 2014, I came home to San Antonio and accepted my position at the Bexar County District Attorney’s office. As a prosecutor, I have tried over 50 trials from a misdemeanor case to serious felony offenses, including Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child and Murder. My experience as a prosecutor will be invaluable in helping my clients get the best outcome on their cases.
