A Marine Corps veteran, James Heath applies the discipline and commitment developed during his military service to every case he handles. Before entering private practice, James served as an Assistant Public Defender in the 81st and 218th Judicial Districts, representing clients in juvenile, misdemeanor, and felony cases. He also gained experience in both state and federal criminal defense through work with the Far West Texas Regional Public Defender’s Office and the Federal Public Defenders for the Northern District of Texas. This background provides practical insight into how criminal cases are charged, investigated, and litigated.

James earned his Juris Doctor from Texas A&M University School of Law and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Politics and Law from the University of Texas at San Antonio, where he graduated summa cum laude.
